Cyber Security Game
This application was developed to understand the role of motivational factors affecting decision-making of hackers and analysts. In this application, a participant performing as an analyst can make decision against a participant performing as a hacker.
Deception in Cyber Security
This application was developed for investigating the use of deception in situations involving cyber security. We investigate timing and amount of deception via a simulation microworld.
Decision from Ambiguity
This application was developed for studying the role of choice set size, degree of ambiguity, and outcome probability in description-experience gap under ambiguity.
Dynamic Climate Change Simulator (DCCS)
This application was developed for studying simple biases that people exhibit while making decisions against climate change. The DCCS was inspired by generic dynamic stocks and flows tasks, and based on a simplified and adapted climate model. It enables people to improve their understanding of climate change processes.
Interactive Landslide Simulator
This application was developed for investigating human decisions against landslides. The ILS makes people experience landslides and losses due to landslides in a microworld. The simulation improves people's understanding against landslides by way of contributions against this problem.
Landslide Snakes and Ladders Game
This tool is a simple simulation of the age-old game Snakes and Ladders made on Pygame used for educating people about landslide risks. The game functions on the original rules wherein the players role die to move along the board, with the ultimate goal of reaching 100. This tool adds questions pertaining to landslides during the encounter of a ladder or snake such that the player must answer the question correctly to move forward. If the player provides a wrong answer to a question at a ladder, they fail to enjoy the advantages of the ladder and similarly at a snake, a wrong answerfollows a penalty. Questions in the landslide snakes and ladder cover topics concerning facts, causes, and consequences of landslides.
Markov Security Game
This application was developed to understand cyber-security situations where a human performing as a hacker plays against a human performing as an analyst. The state of the network, whether protected or not, is a function of last actions of the analyst.
Public Goods Game
This application was developed to understand decision-making for public goods. In particular, we have used this simulation in understanding cooperation against climate change, where everyone needs to cooperate in order to solve the problem.
Sampling and Perception of Risk
This application was developed to understand the reasons for people's decisions from experience. Also, to study how people consider options that contain uncertain rewards.
